These GXT's are my second set of Midland two-way radios. They carry a strong signal and work well, the features and options are quite complicated and I have not used the headsets or the privacy code options, I don't need them. Just turn on the rotary switch and key-up. Ideal for carpooling, family camping, hotels, boating, festivals, RVing, etc. These radios are very simple and easy to use, or they can be as complicated as you want with the privacy coding options. I read the instruction manual fully and initially was intimidated, but actually they are very simple, turn them on push the button and talk. Another good thing about this package set-up is that it comes with all the batteries and AC/DC chargers, charge them at home or in your vehicle.
