We have heard several differing reviews of this product. So we tested for ourselves. Used Channel 13 on low power for all tests. On straight line of sight, works at least half a mile with total clarity - ran out of street. In an indoor shopping center with lots of metal, could go about 1/4 mile with about 20 feet around an "L" before getting drop outs. So people who said that they could barely talk across the street evidently had a bad unit. Overall, very good unit.
